Study on the New Criteria for Tuberculin Reaction

Abstract
The author carried out a study on the criteria of tuberculin reaction from the immunological point of view.
That is, the tuberculin reaction are readjusted according to the degree of reaction for B. C. G. vaccination among those who re;icted negative to the tuberculin.
The results were as followings:
1) Criteria of tuberculin reaction on non-B. C. G. vaccinatees.
Judging from tissue reaction to B. C. G. vaccination, it is thought to be reasonable to define that the reaction size of 0 to 2mm to Japanese Old tuberculin of 1:2, 000 dilution as negative, from 3 to 5mm, as questionable and 13m:m or more, as positive reaction respectively.
: Reaction size of 0 to 6mm to Korean Old tuberculin of 1 : 2, 000 dilution as negative, from 7 to 12mm, as questionable and 13mrn or more, as positive reaction respectively.
: Reaction size of 0 to Smm to Korear.~ Oldtuberculin of 1 : 1, 000 dilution as negative, from 9 to 12mm, as questionable and 13mm. or more, as positive reaction respectively.
2) Criteria of tuberculin reaction on B. C. G. vaccinatees.
The Japanese Old tuberculin of 1 : 2, 000 dilution is not fit to test the tuberculin reaction. because the reaction size was very small and_ could be interpreted as negative although the. reaction with B. C. G. vaccination was strong and definite.
It was also not definite with Korean Old. tuberculin of 1 : 2, 000, dilution, but it could be said that, reaction size of 3 to 5mm as. questionable and 6mm or more as positive.
However a negative reaction could not be: judged as one without tuberculosis.
With Korean Old tuberculin of 1 : 1, 000 dilution, it can be said that the reaction size of 0 to 3mm as negative, from 4 to 7mm, as.. questionable and 8mm or more as positive: reaction respectively.
